No More Runnin'

Role: Director of Photography, Editor, & Supporting Actor

A comedic narrative short following two ill-prepared amateur thieves attempting a "high-stakes" heist in the most unlikely of locations: the local library. This project showcases my ability to balance technical precision with comedic timing and narrative world-building.

Cinematography & Location Scouting (DP)

As the DP, I was responsible for the visual identity of the film, from early-stage location scouting to final principal photography.

  • Visual Contrast: I designed a lighting and camera plan that leaned into the "heist" aesthetic—using shadows and tight framing to mimic a serious action film—which served as a sharp, comedic contrast to the mundane library setting.

  • Spatial Design: Finding the right library location was key to the film's pacing. I scouted locations that offered deep aisles and varied perspectives to maximize the "stealth" gags and the final confrontation.

Editorial & Performance

  • Comedic Pacing: In the edit, I focused on the "Jeopardy" banter and the dry humor of the library staff. Cutting for comedy requires a distinct rhythm, and I worked to ensure the dialogue felt snappy and the punchlines landed with maximum impact.

  • On-Screen Contribution: In addition to my technical roles, I stepped in front of the lens as a supporting actor, giving me a unique perspective on the production and helping to maintain the energy of the ensemble cast.
